There are three things you can do to get the most out of your battery life:
- Keep your Bluetooth connection turned off when not in use. You can find this option inside settings. It will be close to the top. Touch on “Bluetooth” then touch on the switch to turn it off.
- Keep your display brightness turned down low. You can do this by going to the iPad's settings and choosing "Brightness & Wallpaper" from the left-side menu. The further to the left you move the slider, the less bright the screen will be (and thus the less power it will use).
- Monitor what apps are using your GPS location. You can find information about this in settings>privacy>location services. All of the apps that are turned “on” are draining your battery when they are open by using your GPS location services. Keep only the necessary ones turned on.
My iPad keeps displaying the following message:
"Not enough storage. This iPhone/iPad cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available"
If you have ever gotten this message then it’s definitely time to manage your iCloud account! You can easily browse through your iCloud setting on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch and find out exactly what is eating up your iCloud storage. To do so, go to Setting> iCloud> Storage & Backup> Manage Storage. Here you can see which devices and apps are using the most storage. You can tap on the device under Backups and turn off certain apps that are using iCloud to free up some space. From here you can also delete your backup data. However, it would be a good idea to plug your iPad into your computer and sync it first to create a backup in iTunes. Then, you can tap Delete Backup. If you want to continue to use iCloud to backup your device, go to Setting-> iCloud-> Storage & Backup and turn on iCloud Backup.
How do I lock the position of my screen and keep it from rotating?
I don't think there is anything more annoying than trying to view the iPad with one orientation like landscape mode and having the slight tilt of the iPad change it to a different orientation like portrait mode. This is especially true if you are trying to watch a movie or play a game, but you are sitting at an angle.
You can actually lock the screen orientation through a quick double tap of the home button and then a scroll from left to right. Now in the bottom left corner there is a grey button with a circular arrow. Tap it once to lock the screen and tap it again to unlock.

How can I disable in-app purchases?
One thing every parent should know how to do is turn off the ability to make in-app purchases on the iPad. Otherwise, that seemingly 'free' game may end up costing tens or even hundreds of dollars after your seven-year-old buys a bunch of in-game currency at $4.99 a pop. Luckily, it's pretty simple to keep this from happening. First, you need to enable parental controls by going into your iPad's settings and choosing general from the left-side menu. On this screen, locate restrictions. In the restrictions menu, you'll need to enable restrictions, which will ask you four a 4-digit passcode. Once you have enabled these parental controls, it is simply a matter of scrolling down the page until you see the option for In-App Purchases. When you slide this to the off positions, most apps won't even show the screen for purchasing items within the app, and those that do will be prevented from going through with any transactions.
How do I take a screenshot of my iPad?
Simply hold down the iPad home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. You will see a flash on your screen signaling the iPad's screen was captured. Not sure where these buttons are located? Refer to the diagram above for the locations. Once you've captured the screen, you can find the image within the Photos app. You can email the screenshot to one of your friends or even tweet it. Want a quick way to get it to your computer? Simply email it to yourself.
What do I do if I have an app that is acting really funny, or keeps shutting itself down every time I try to open it?
You can do this in two ways: (1) tap the Home button two times quickly or (2) use four fingers and “pull” up on your screen from the bottom. This brings up the Multitask Bar, which is a list of apps running on your device. (Typically, this is used to quickly access an application you have running on the phone so you can switch to another app. All you do to switch is tap the icon and the iPad switches to that application.) To shut down an application, just press and hold any of the open application icons. When you do this icons will start wiggling around and a minus symbol will appear. Clicking on the minus symbol will close the application.
What other options do I have if something goes wrong on my iPad?
The number one troubleshooting tip for any device is to shut it down and restart it. The iPad is no different. If you are experiencing issues with the iPad, whether it is an unresponsive iPad, apps randomly crashing, or the iPad simply running too slow, it might be time to reboot the iPad. When you reset the iPad by shutting it down and powering it back on, you flush all apps from memory, even those that have misbehaved. This is a safe process that will keep all of your data on the iPad. In essence, rebooting the iPad gives it a clean slate and plenty of elbowroom, which clears up any problems caused by an app running amok:

Can I print from my iPad?
Yes. And no. First off, you should know that Apple has included the ability to print in most of their apps. Safari browser and Photo, to take two obvious examples, both include the ability to print but the feature hasn’t been made available in every app. To look at it another way, if you want to print an email attachment, you are able to do it from Apple’s mail client, but you may not be able to print from another email app. You will need to make sure the app you are using specifically has the ability to print in order to get the job done. Secondly, to print directly from an iPad you must have a wireless printer. Some of the easiest wireless printers to connect to the iPad are the HP wireless e-printers. Prices for these printers range from $130 - $330+. If you do not have a wireless printer you still have other options like utilizing screen shots and sending your desktop computer an email with the information you want to print.
